    If present, use the contents of ".version" to set
    VYATTA_VERSION and PACKAGE_VERSION during "autoreconf".
    The later is the standard autoconf suffix for distribution tarballs.
    
    You may also set VYATTA_VERSION during configure with
    
        bash ./configure VYATTA_VERSION=1.2.1
    
    The default is "xxx"
